Audiovisual performances and installations by Jp Jullin

fixate

pliq / AV Performance / 10' / 2025
Jean-Philippe Jullin + Alexandre Sasset-Blouin

Fixate is a live audiovisual performance built from distorted body footage, voices, broken rhythms, and machine noise. We manipulate sound and image in real time using tactile interfaces, modular synths, infrared hand tracking, and custom audiovisual systems.

Actions on stage directly reshape what the audience hears and sees, making the performance physical, sensorial, and intense.

pliq is the audiovisual duo of Jean-Philippe Jullin and Alexandre Sasset-Blouin. We build feedback systems where sound and image continuously reshape each other.

Spectra

AV Performance / 20' / 2024
Collaboration with Ariane Levasseur

Spectra is a transdisciplinary performance that explores latent sonic spaces through the interaction of dance and gesture perception. By tracking the dancer's movements, visuals are projected onto the body, using these gestures to navigate sound banks and reflect the pervasive influence of technology on human life.

dis/order

AV Composition / 3' / 2023
Collaboration with Jules Roze

dis/order is a generative audiovisual project that integrates the computer as a collaborative agent through machine learning and algorithmic feedback systems. The project explores the emergence of signal from digital noise, evolving a computer-generated structure toward higher levels of organization and coherence.

Hypnagogia

Generative AV / Installation / 2023

Hypnagogia is an audiovisual exploration of autonomous algorithmic behavior, inspired by the semi-conscious state between wakefulness and sleep. Using unsupervised machine learning to control sound and video, the installation fluctuates between order and chaos. An artificial agent seeks to balance visual and sound patterns, allowing viewers to explore the dynamics of autonomous systems in an immersive environment.

Synapses

Interactive Light + AV / Installation / 2023

Synapses is an interactive installation exploring the human-machine connection through machine learning and neural networks. It analyzes how technology interprets human movements and shapes our perception. Controlled by two independent agents, light and sound respond to viewers' interactions, where shadows alter the system's behavior. The installation reflects on human-machine relationships in the age of AI.

Aus' Dreams

Octo Sound + Light Performance / 90' / 2022

Aus is the name of my computer, and this work explores its return to life. The goal was an equal collaboration, where neither of us controls the performance. After processing the sounds, Aus determines their playback order and influences my actions to enhance them. Half-algorithmic, half-composed, this piece invites self-surrender, seeking a state of latency to resonate as a unified whole.
