About Jean-Philippe Jullin

whoDat?

I build responsive environments through real-time visuals, computer vision, sensors, and show control.

I’m Jean-Philippe Jullin, an interactive systems artist and creative technologist working across real-time visuals, computer vision, sensor-driven installations, and show control. I recently finished a Master’s in composition and sound creation at the Université de Montréal, supervised by Dominic Thibault. My research focused on the use of machine learning in musical contexts, in particular the exploration of latent sonic spaces based on perceptual aspects.

Alongside my independent artistic practice, I currently work at 20K as a Show Control Technician, programming and integrating systems for immersive and interactive experiences. My studies were funded by the Fonds de Recherche du Québec - Société et Culture (FRQSC), and I’ve received the Marcelle-Deschênes award, as well as excellence scholarships from the Faculty of Music.

My work has been featured in Musicworks magazine, and I’ve presented at conferences including NIME, Sound/Image, ICMC, and AIMC.
